Southern Savers Festival of Free!

I look forward to this each week! Visit Southern Savers for a listing of items that are free or nearly free using your coupons.

I know many people have told me they simply do not have time for couponing but really with great sites such as Southern Savers and many others- it takes a lot of the work out of couponing. Everyone I know that has started couponing have told me later they can't believe they ever bought things at full price! Once you get your coupons organized, a routine established and your favorite websites and blogs bookmarked - the work becomes minimal!

Southern Plate

I have a link to the Southern Plate but if you haven't visited the website you should. I made the Baby Boston Creme Pies this weekend with some biscuits I had gotten for a really good deal at Kroger's recently. They were a big hit. I'm really anxious to try more of her recipes--they look really good!

Where to get coupons?

I often get asked this question. Most of my coupons come from:

  • Sunday newspaper- (If you live in the Tri-cities area, the Bristol Herald Courier has the best ones.)
  • All You magazine- there are always $40-50 worth of coupons each month and some great articles as well.
  • e-Bay - if there are particular products you can't find coupons for or if you just want to quickly build your inventory you can get a lot of coupons for just a couple of dollars on e-Bay. Make sure you look at the seller feedback to see that you are using a reputable seller. I found e-Bay particularly helpful when my daughter was young. I got formula coupons and diapers coupons through e-Bay.
  • online printable coupons from sites such as redplum.com; coupons.com (not all stores will accept them but I am finding that more and more are open to accepting them)
  • other online providers such as http://www.marysworld.com/; http://www.thecouponclippers.com/; http://www.centsoff.com/. These websites allow you to select and purchase only the coupons you want. So for example if you want Similac coupons, Tyson chicken, and Tylenol- you could select and purchase just those coupons. The coupons are generally anywhere from $.05-$.15 each plus the cost of a stamp.

If you have questions about any of these don't hestitate to contact me (savvy2save@gmail.com). I'd be glad to provide any additional information or answer any questions.

**DIAPERS-- Walgreens has their brand diapers on sale this week 2/$9. I've used the pull-ups before and they work great. You can read reviews on the diapers here if you are interested in giving them a try. From reading the comments- it seems more people love them than hate them. I might be worth try- particularly since they are MUCH cheaper then name brand and they have 100% money back guarantee.

Food Lion & Food City Tips

*Food Lion has printable store coupons that can be combined with manufacturer coupons. The best link to get to those is at Southern Savers' site.

*For you Food City shoppers, if you have children and pets be sure to sign up for the various clubs. They have: Paws & Claws, Baby, Kids and Wine clubs. They send some great store coupons periodically. Often you get free items- it's great and my daughter looks forward to getting her coupons and making a Food City run!

Good Tuesday Morning!

*There are some great freebies to sign up for on Coupon Cravings, so check it out.

*Cellfire should be loading new coupons today, so don't forget to load them to your Kroger card before your Kroger shopping this week! Don't forget, these work like a store coupon and can be combined with a manufacturer (paper) coupon! (From my experience, however, they each coupon can only be used once.)

*Did you know that you can print Target coupons directly from their webiste? Use this link. Remember these are STORE coupons so you can combine these with manufacturer coupons to get some really good deals! They often have a Goldfish coupon for $1 which makes them around $.79 per pack depending upon your store. If you have small children, that's a great deal for a pretty healthy snack!

*If you don't subscribe to All You magazine, pick up the April issue at Wal-Mart soon. This month's issue contains more than $50 in coupons! Here is also a link to a good article on their website regarding coupons and the best strategies for stretching those dollars.

More Kroger's Deals!!

Gillette Body Wash - $3.49
Load an e-coupon to your Kroger card from P&G for $2
Use the $2 manf. coupon from 3/1 Bristol paper
Final cost = FREE

Betty Crocker Potatoes - $1,49
Load a cellfire coupon to your Kroger card for $0.40
Then print a $0.40 coupon from the printable coupon link below (which will double)
Final cost= $.29

(*Note- the e-coupons can only be used once per transaction per item. So you could do the two deals listed about together, however, you could not purchase 2 body washes or 2 potatoes.)

Sunday's Sale Papers

I haven't gotten a chance to really dig into Sunday's sales papers to see what's good this week but I did notice the following at Kroger this week:

**Tyson Chicken Breast - $.99/lb (stock up! that's a great price)
**Sunkist/Diet Sunkist/A&W Rootbeer- $.75/ea when you buy 10
**Oscar Myer Deli Shave Lunchmeat - 2/$5

Also- Walgreen's has Garnier for $2.99. Use the $2 coupon in the Easy Saver (located at the front of the store with the weekly ads). And if you have a manufacturer coupon ($1) you can get it for FREE......if not, $.99 still isn't bad for a bottle of shampoo or conditioner!

**Don't forget if anyone else spots any great deals they want to share send me an e-mail (savvy2save@gmail.com) and I'll post. Also, if you have a topic you want me to discuss, let me know that too!

Walgreen

HUGGIES!!!

This week's deal is Huggies diapers! Walgreens has them on sale for $10 for the jumbo pack or traning pants. Use the printable coupon link below and also go to http://www.redplum.com/ to print $5 Huggies coupons!! (You should be able to print 2 coupons from each.). Also, Walgreen's is giving $10 in Register Rewards if you spend $25. So the deal go something like this:

Buy 3 packs of Huggies @ $10 per pack = $30
Use 3 $5 coupons = $15 off
Out of pocket = $15 for 3 packs of Huggies

Then you will receive $10 in Register Reward which you use on your next trip (this week) to get another pack of Huggies for free!

So bottom line- you can get 4 packs of Huggies for $15 out of pocket!! And for anyone who has purchased the Walgreen's coloring book that has the coupons in the front there are $1 off Huggies coupons in those- which you can combine with the coupons you print for additional savings!

Also, if you have small children or an elderly parent you might want to check out http://www.thecaregiversmarketplace.com/ - you can save your receipts and get money back on items such as children's diapers, adult diapers, wipes, viatmins, etc. I will be submitting receipts and getting money back on the Cottonelle wipes I bought on sale last week and the Huggies I will be buying this week!

Walgreens

I made 1 more trip to Walgreens before this week's sale ends. Here are some of the highlights from this week:

*Walgreen's Ziplocs - $.99/ box (I've tried them and they work great)
*Garnier Fructis $3.99- 2.00 from Easy Saver Catalog - $1.00 Manufacturer's Cpn = $0.99
*Excedrin Menstrual (20 ct) $5.99 - $4.00 from Easy Saver - $1.00 Manf. Cpn = $0.99
*Johnson's Baby Lotion (15 oz) on sale for $3.36 - $1 from Walgreen's coloring book - $1 Manf. Cpn - $1.36
*Speed Stick - on clearance for $1.69 (reg $3.29)- $.75 Manf Cpn - $.94
*Cottonelle Wipes (42 ct) $3.59 - use in ad coupon makes them $1.99 - $.50 manf. cpn - $1.49

Cellfire

http://www.cellfire.com/

Have you tried Cellfire? If not, it's a great way to save! With Cellfire you can load e-coupons onto your Kroger card. What's great about it is that you can then combine this with a paper coupon for additional savings! So for example- Kroger often has Colgate toothpaste 2 for $5. Cellfire often has a $1.50 e-coupon. I combine that with a paper manufacturer's Colgate coupon of $1 to get a lot of Colgate for FREE! It's great. The Cellfire coupons, however, can only be used once per transaction though- so you could not use this deal to buy 3 Colgates at one time.

WALGREENS

Yesterday I went to Walgreens and found the Orajel Plaque Rinse in Berry Flavor (12 oz) on sale for $2.59. I used some $1 coupon from the Walgreen's coloring book they had a while back. That made them $1.59!! They are normally $3.99.
